Richard Allen, Former Chairperson
The CSRA Outreach Endowment INC was founded in 2015. Rev. Dr. Sam Davis, then pastor of Beulah Grove Baptist Church, proposed the idea of an endowment to the Scholarship ministry leaders at Beulah Grove. He presented the endowment as a means to preserve the legacy of the scholarships. Pastor Davis explained that an endowment would create an ongoing source of income for the scholarship ministries. The CSRA Outreach Endowment INC grew out of a collaborative effort between the Beulah Grove Baptist Church, the B. I. Vernon, Bessie Danforth, and Mattie Burney Scholarship Ministries along with the Kingdom Kids Preparatory academy. The CSRA Outreach Endowment INC is a community service agency operating in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA). The scholarships that are generated by these funds will empower the next generation of leaders to overcome financial, class, and cultural barriers. The CSRA Outreach Endowment INC is a 501(c)(3) entity formed in the state of Georgia under the leadership of CEO Mr. Richard Allen. Mr. Allen was very knowledgeable about business, and he used these skills to carry the Endowment to new heights from strategic planning to elaborate banquets until his death in 2021. Bessie Danforth Scholarship
for
College Juniors and Seniors
Mrs. Bessie Danforth was gifted with a passion for young people and had a desire to help them learn as much as she could. It was obvious from her public-school classroom to her Sunday School classroom. After her retirement from the Richmond County School System, she continued her nurturing of children in her church where she was instrumental in organizing the Children’s Choir. After Mrs. Danforth passed away, her sister, Mrs. Laura Stanley, got permission from Rev. Davis to give a scholarship in her honor. The Memorial Ministry was formed in 1994 and they now carry on the legacy of Mrs. Danforth.
